Veterans

No other segment of our society deserves better treatment than our veterans! Providing appropriate health care, career and educational opportunities, and disability support are among the obligations that our government and society must honor. The disproportionate number of homeless veterans is a national disgrace, and our ongoing wars are going to exacerbate the problem. A priority of the 111th Congress must be to appropriately deal with this expanding problem.

Similar to the education and training opportunities that were offered WWII veterans, we need a new GI Bill that encourages citizens to serve their country and provides iron-clad access to health care, education, and job opportunities once their service is complete or reaches a certain benchmark of time. No other course is acceptable or responsible, in my view!
